Abyss Shops Guide

A practical guide to every shop in Abyss Roblox — what to buy, when to buy it, and which purchases are worth prioritizing over others. Organized by the progression decisions you actually face, not by alphabetical NPC list.

Who This Guide Is For

You have been playing Abyss for a bit and keep hearing about items you should buy — but you are not sure which shops have what, which prices are real, and which purchases are actually worth delaying other things for. This page is a practical buying guide, not a database.

Core Buying Principles

  • Tube before gunThe Boat Tube unlocks Ancient Sands access. A better gun in Forgotten Deep is less valuable than access to a better farming zone.
  • Quest income funds purchasesDiver quests, Marcus quests, and Kraken quests generate the cash you need for Henry's shop. Don't farm passively — do quests actively.
  • Don't buy mid-tier guns with Spirit Roots moneyThe Wasted Gun ($17,500) and other mid-tier purchases are only worth it if you are already farming the zone that justifies them. Buying them before Ancient Sands is comfortable means you are spending money on a zone you cannot yet farm efficiently.
  • Potions are session tools, not always-on buffsAt $2,000–$11,500 per 15 minutes, potions are expensive for routine use. Community discussion commonly recommends using them for high-value runs (Spirit Roots, mutation hunting, difficult quests) rather than daily farming.
  • Geodes > selling rawDo not sell Geodes unopened. Their artifact yield from Virelia is worth significantly more than their raw cash value.

Shop by Shop

Henry's Harpoon Shop

Forgotten Deep — The Forbidden Dome

Location: Next to the Kraken in the Forgotten Dome

Role: Primary gun merchant for the entire early-to-mid progression path

Starter Gun

$75

15 DMG · 2.6s Cooldown · 0.45 Control

Buy immediately. This is your first real upgrade from the tutorial Bottle Gun.

Buy when: First thing — before your first Diver delivery run.

Beginner's Gun

$350

20 DMG · 2.4s Cooldown · 0.5 Control

A small but meaningful step up from Starter Gun. Buy when you have the cash from Diver quests.

Buy when: After your first or second Diver quest completion.

Air Rifle Gun

$2,150

35 DMG · 2.0s Cooldown · 0.65 Control

The practical floor for effective Ancient Sands farming. Widely cited as the first major gun upgrade to aim for. Destructoid and Pro Game Guides both reference this as a key mid-game milestone.

Buy when: Buy when you have Boat Tube and are ready to commit to Ancient Sands farming. Don't buy before the Boat Tube.

Crossbow Gun

$4,750

60 DMG · 1.8s Cooldown · 0.8 Control

The ceiling before Ancient Sands' hardest zones. Community discussion commonly describes this as the last major gun upgrade before Spirit Roots.

Buy when: Once you are consistently farming Ancient Sands and have strong mutation income.

Note: Prices are documented by Pro Game Guides (February 2026) and cross-referenced with Game8. Game updates may have changed specific values — check in-game shop for current prices.

David

Forgotten Deep — The Forbidden Dome

Location: Next to Virelia's stall in the Forgotten Dome

Role: Tube and equipment merchant

Boat Tube

~$5,250

Travel speed upgrade

The first major mobility unlock in Abyss. Destructoid specifically cites this as the priority purchase after your first Diver delivery earnings. Enables ocean travel to Ancient Sands.

Buy when: Buy as soon as your Diver quest income allows. This is more important than any gun upgrade — it determines which zones you can access.

Note: Price cited by Destructoid and referenced across multiple sources. Confirm in-game before committing resources.

Virelia

Forgotten Deep — The Forbidden Dome

Location: Next to the Kraken, near the distinctive purple illuminating stall

Role: Geode cracking service

Geode Cracking

Free or material cost

Converts Geodes into artifacts

Not a purchase — a service. Opening Geodes is how you obtain artifacts that provide luck bonuses, cash boosts, and stat improvements. Community discussion commonly treats this as the main path to artifact slots.

Buy when: Save Geodes as you find them and visit Virelia regularly. Do not sell Geodes unopened — their artifact value exceeds their raw sell price.

Note: No cash price — Geodes are obtained from fishing and treasure chests. Community discussion is consistent that cracking Geodes at Virelia is the standard approach.

Mr. Black

Forgotten Deep (and Ancient Sands)

Location: Forgotten Deep; also present in Ancient Sands

Role: Oxygen Pods, potions, and mutation quest giver

Small Oxygen Pod

$125

Restores 25 Oxygen instantly

Worth keeping a small stock of for early Deep farming. As your Oxygen capacity grows with gear and race bonuses, these become less essential.

Buy when: Buy 3–5 early on. Reduce purchases as you get stronger tubes and larger Oxygen capacity.

Basic Oxygen Pod

$250

Restores 50 Oxygen instantly

A stronger Oxygen restoration option. Useful in mid-game zones where fish deal more damage and your Oxygen depletes faster.

Buy when: Transition to this once you're regularly farming Ancient Sands and taking frequent damage.

Speed Potion

$2,000

+20% tube speed for 15 minutes

A quality-of-life boost that compounds over a full farming session. Community discussion commonly cites this as worth using during dedicated Ancient Sands and Spirit Roots runs.

Buy when: Use during your first Ancient Sands or Spirit Roots farming session. The 15-minute duration is short — time your run around it.

Strength Potion

$11,500

+30% gun damage for 15 minutes

Expensive but significant. Community discussion commonly describes this as worth using during high-stakes or high-value runs (Spirit Roots, late-game quests) rather than daily farming.

Buy when: Save for Spirit Roots farming or difficult quest chains. Do not use on routine Forgotten Deep runs.

Drop Luck Potion

$2,500

+30% fish drop luck for 15 minutes

Particularly worth using when targeting mutations. Community discussion commonly cites this as a strong complement to Speed Potion during dedicated farming sessions.

Buy when: Stack with Speed Potion during mutation-focused Ancient Sands or Spirit Roots runs.

XP Potion

$6,500

+30% XP for 15 minutes

Useful when you are pushing for artifact slots or race unlock milestones. Less immediately valuable than Drop Luck Potion for most players.

Buy when: Use when you need to push a specific XP milestone — artifact slot unlock, race unlock, or level gate.

Note: Prices from Roonby (February 2026). Mr. Black's shop inventory and prices may vary slightly between zones and game versions. Advanced Oxygen Pod ($550) is also associated with Jeff's Shop per Roonby — confirm in-game.

Spirit Roots Shops — Isolde, Lumi, Golem

Spirit Roots

Location: Spirit Roots zone — accessible after completing Ancient Sands progression

Role: Late-game merchants and quest givers

Late-Game Guns (Wild Gun, Ruined Gun, etc.)

Higher tier — specific prices not consistently documented

Pro Game Guides: Wild Gun is highest DPS; Banana Gun is fastest; Ruined Gun has best Control

Public guides consistently describe Spirit Roots shops as the source of the game's best guns. The Wild Gun is cited as the overall best by Pro Game Guides, and the Banana Gun for speed-focused players.

Buy when: Do not buy mid-tier guns (Wasted Gun, etc.) with money you need for Spirit Roots access. Save for the final tier or the gun that matches your build.

Viktor

Viktor's Shop — specific prices partially documented

Strength Potion ($11,500), XP Potion ($6,500), Heavy Oxygen Pod ($1,800)

Viktor is cited by Roonby as an additional source for Strength Potion and XP Potion, as well as the Heavy Oxygen Pod. The Heavy Oxygen Pod ($1,800) restores 250 Oxygen — significantly more than lower-tier pods.

Buy when: Viktor's inventory becomes relevant once you're in Spirit Roots regularly. The Heavy Oxygen Pod is particularly useful in high-damage zones.

Note: Late-game prices are not consistently documented across sources. Check in-game for current values. Specific Spirit Roots shop inventories vary by NPC.

What Not to Buy — and Why

  • Expensive guns before your zone supports themBuying the Wasted Gun ($17,500) before you farm Ancient Sands comfortably means you are paying for a tool you cannot fully use. Match your gun to the zone you are actually farming.
  • Oxygen Pods as a long-term strategyRelying on purchased Oxygen Pods instead of improving your race bonuses, tube, and Oxygen artifact builds makes every run more expensive than it needs to be.
  • Mid-tier potions on routine runsStrength Potion at $11,500 per 15 minutes is expensive for daily use. Community discussion commonly recommends saving it for high-stakes sessions.
  • Raw Geodes instead of cracking themSelling an unopened Geode loses the artifact value. Virelia's cracking service is free (or material cost) and the artifact output is significantly better than raw sell price.
  • Crimson Shard ($10,000) without a specific build planCrimson Shard gives +50% Speed and Drop Luck but -15% Strength. It is a situational buff, not a general upgrade. Community discussion commonly describes it as a niche item for specific builds.
